It’s time to start thinking about the neighborhood-wide BSVA tag sale/yard sale/garage sale/stoop sale/! This year’s sale will take place June 4-5, 2022. Sign up here Signing up gets your address on our map and in the Craigslist ad (paper maps distributed across from Greg’s Auto Repair at Nonotuck@Riverside). Want to do your sale for one day only? Both days? No problem. There’s plenty of traffic both days. If you are able, we ask that you consider donating a share of your proceeds to the BSVA, which will go towards the scholarship fund. Contact Cory Mescon (firstname.lastname@example.org) with any questions regarding the tag sale.
Join your neighbors in welcoming and getting to know our new mayor, Gina Louise-Sciarra. Mayor Sciarra will join us to share the city’s priorities and to take our questions and listen to our concerns. This is an excellent opportunity for us to let the Mayor know that the BSVA exists and cares about our changing community.

Great news! On Friday, October 18 from 7:00 AM until 5 PM speed tables will be installed on Riverside Drive. The roadway will be closed for a short distance between Norwood Avenue and Federal Street. There will be detours in place. Police officers will be present and emergency services have been notified.
The installation of speed tables has been a 10-year effort, and we are hopeful that it will slow traffic down on Riverside.
So after Friday be sure to allow yourself and extra 10 to 20 seconds to get to work, any appointments, etc!
The BSVA will host a candidate forum on Tuesday, October 15th. The forum will take place in the Little Theater at the Northampton High School starting at 7pm.
The ward 5 city council candidates will debate from 7 to 8 pm; the school committee candidates (ward 5 and at-large) will take the stage — and your questions — from 8 to 9 pm. We hope to see you there!
